Comments and Cast List, Please read all!

We held auditions last night and have happily arrived at the following cast list. These decisions were not arrived at easily however. We have been blessed with an enormous interest in drama club this year as well as a tremendously talented set of cast members. Thinking specifically about our girls there was simply more talent than there were “meaty” roles to offer. In making these decisions we considered abilities in singing, dancing and acting (all qualities everyone had). After abilities we looked at confidence, ease in front of an audience, and being prepared and committed. In the end we also gave some extra consideration to 6th graders (ensuring all will get their turn someday) as well as past participation in drama club.

It is our hope that all kids will get a chance to find out their role in private at home. If there are any who have difficulty finding out their role at home and wish to find out online at school, please be sure to do so in private to allow yourself time to react without an audience. Placement decisions were based on what we felt would be best for the show, rather than any child’s individual interest. With that in mind, there will surely be a few who take a few moments to feel a little disappointed if they did not get the part they hoped for. Be sure this passes quickly. The focus from here on will be making Grease one of the best productions in school history! This requires a lot of team effort as well as a lot of team spirit. No role is less important than another, some just have a few more lines:) If in the following week you feel (for any reason) that you are unable to participate in the role you have been given, you must let Cat know you are withdrawing by this Friday from Drama Club. We hope to see all at Drama Club on Monday, ready to work! This is when the real fun begins. Cat, Sage, Eileen and Laura

Hey Anonymous Rosa! I'm glad you're excited and hope that everyone is beginning to get excited. I think on Monday we'll start off with learning some more songs, talking about costumes and hair, and generally getting organized. I don't think the re-writes will be done, but maybe. Congratulations to all on the show.
